O. Andrew Wheaton received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Morehouse College. Andrew has been practicing law in Los Angeles since 1991 honing his practice in litigation and trial law. Andrew’s practice concentrates on complex civil litigation, with a focus on business and corporate litigation, intellectual property, entertainment and employment and trade secrets litigation.
In Static Control Components, Inc. v. Lexmark Int’l, Inc., Andrew successfully defended an action asserting copyright, DMCA, and patent infringement claims, including assertion of patent misuse defense, resulting in a favorable settlement.
In Star Patrol Enterprises, Inc. v. Saban Entertainment, Inc., Andrew successfully defended against a complaint for copyright infringement, breach of contract, inducing breach of contract, and various associated state law claims against owners and broadcasters of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, alleging that the Power Rangers infringed a property the plaintiff allegedly owned.
In Whoop, Inc. v. Dyno Productions, Inc., Andrew represented actress Whoopi Goldberg and her corporation in litigation arising from the motion picture entitled “T. Rex.”
Outside of the practicing law, Andrew enjoys spending time with family, golfing and traveling.
