Rebecca E. MacLaren represents individuals and firms of all sizes in securities and general business disputes. Ms. MacLaren is known for her ability to break through seemingly deadlocked positions and craft pre-trial solutions that preserve resources and maximize goodwill.
Ms. MacLaren also represents lawyers in professional liability litigation matters. She has successfully defended her clients against claims of extortion and breach of fiduciary duty by public figures, defeating claims from the pleading stage through appeal.
Ms. MacLaren also guides lawyers, broker-dealers, registered investment advisors and their registered representatives through regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings. She appears before self-regulatory and governmental agencies to defend and expunge her clients’ regulatory records, including before FINRA, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the California Department of Business Oversight and the California State Bar.
Ms. MacLaren graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1996, where she earned B.A. degrees in History and Sociology. She received her J.D. from Santa Clara University in 2000.
